Rented this at Tatterhood’s recommendation; it is incredibly inspiring. While not the most tightly produced film (as the commentary admits, though they do blame the volcano, winter storms and glacier’s-edge locations for some of it) it is an incredibly loving telling of the Beowulf story, with magnificent costumes, sets and locations. Very much something I’ll be coming back to for the Orin stories; a magnificent blend of formal mythic retelling and very character-based personal narratives that I feel is very, very sword-and-sorcery.
